What are The Symptoms of Lower Back Pain
The symptoms of lower back pain are actually quite obvious - there is
a shooting kind of pain in the lower back, and it does not let go through
out the day!
Sometimes there is a kind of lower back pain which is quite temporary
- the sort which comes when we don't pay attention to our posture when
we pick up weights or when we do strenuous activity which we are not accustomed
to. But even that pain is quite depressing - that's the right word - back
pain is very depressing as it stays on for the whole day and too many
people in the world have learnt to live with it.
Here are the key lower back symptoms and the kind of back pain associated
with them
Constant and nagging pain all around the back - in the middle,
left and right of the lower back area is the most common form of them
all, and can be caused by an injury we did to ourselves or can be something
more serious too.
Burning or stabbing pain in the lower back area is the foremost
symptom for neuropathic pain. This pain is usually caused due to a pinched
nerve. If you are wondering how you can pinch a nerve, understand that
there are things which are not in our control and our body is quite a
complex creation!
A dull ache or pressure in the lower back area is caused by injury
not related to the nervous system, and is known as nociceptive pain. This
is the more long lasting variety and keeps aching for a long period after
the injury has healed completely. If you have a dull ache as lower back
pain symptom, you probably hurt yourself. It could also be some muscular
disease.
Numbness or a 'pins and needles' kind of pain in the legs is also
a symptom of lower back pain and though the area that is paining is not
the lower back directly, the origin is there.
Pain in the Hip area is also an outcome of lower back pain. The
hip is in direct contact with the lower back, and for most people a pain
in the lower back area also comes with pain in the hip area. Most of the
lower back injuries cause pain in both these areas.
Shoulder Problems are another lower back pain symptom. Though shoulder
pain can be caused on its own also, the most common shoulder pains are
caused because of undue stress on the lower back.
Neck Pain and Sciatica are another common offshoot of lower back
pain. Since the lower back area is among the most stress-taking parts
of the body, when it gets in trouble, it spews tension all over the spinal
cord and the shocks are felt at the top of it - in the neck.
All kinds of Arthritis have been linked to lower back pain problems.
As you see, there are a wide range of lower back pain symptoms, and almost
every part of the body is affected with the lower back gets troublesome.
Take real good care of it!
